Founded in 1999 in the UK, ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) was inspired by consultant Terry Hearn, whose angling instincts earned the brand its name. It began by pioneering ultra-sharp carp hooks and terminal tackle designed to catch highly pressured carp.
Initially focused on cutting-edge terminal tackle (such as the T‑6 and G‑4 hooks), ESP has since expanded into a full range of rods, luggage, rigs, clothing, and accessories. Key innovations include the Stiff Rigger hook, the PTFE-coated Big‑T hook, and the Cryogen hook range engineered for strength and sharpness.
ESP designs all products in-house, blending CAD engineering with angler insight to produce specifications that are bespoke and high quality. They operate their own UK plastics factory and CNC workshops for precision components—including moulded bobbins and ready‑tied rigs crafted onsite under strict quality control .
