Description
Founded in 1967 by Cliff Fox in a small workshop in Hainault, Essex, the first product bearing the ‘Fox’ name was a simple metal baitdropper. The brand quickly gained traction, prompting a move to larger premises in Essex and the opening of a European distribution hub on the Belgium‑Netherlands border. Over the years, Fox Angling Supplies transitioned into Fox International, solidifying its presence as one of Europe’s largest privately‑owned fishing tackle firms.
Today, Fox boasts a portfolio exceeding 3,000 individual products, available in over 30 countries, including Japan, Russia, and the U.S. Its core brands target different angling disciplines:
Their products are renowned for being designed by anglers for anglers, blending practicality, innovation, and reliability.
Fox was among the first tackle firms to patent an adjustable-leg bedchair, and introduced the Micron SX bite alarm in 1993, advancing to the DXR—the first alarm with a remote receiver—in 1995. The company maintains a strong in-house design and CAD team, working alongside angling consultants across Europe to develop new products yearly.
Fox International operates through its UK headquarters in Brentwood, Essex, and European distribution centres in Belgium. It employs over 100 staff across design, marketing, sales, and consultancy teams. In 2025, Fox expanded by securing EU-wide distribution rights for CC Moore baits, solidifying its role as a dominant European distributor and product innovator. The company also supports the Angling Trust as a Trade Associate to help protect waterways and promote the sport of fishing.
Starting from a small workshop, Fox International has become a globally recognised angling brand. Its orange fox-head logo is synonymous with quality, performance, and innovation, trusted by recreational and specialist anglers alike.
With its broad product offering—from tackle and shelters to bite alarms and luggage—Fox continues to drive innovation in carp, predator, coarse, match, and lure fishing.
