The sun had come out and was warming the upper layers and the shallows behind the island. Spotting carp from the boat on a trip out to the spots, a 2 kg of bait of small tictac baits from steamies was loosely spread over a area in 6ft of water as any shallower the swans and coots where demolishing all the bait. Then again 1st thing on the Friday morning a single beeb on the rod out to the island and the rod staring to bend round I jumped in the rod and pumped to get the fish away from the island but it still managed to get caught on a snag, so donned the life jacket and made my way out to the snag, after realising the line from the small branch I was back in combat with a carp. It beasted me in the boat in open water but the lock hook held strong and over the cord it went. 39.10lb of incredible looking Belgium
