I’ve been using the RidgeMonkey Boilie Crusher for a couple of years now, and I have to say—it’s an absolute game-changer for anyone looking to up their spod mix. If you regularly need to crush a large amount of boilies for spod mixes, groundbait, or PVA bags, this bit of kit is worth every penny.
One of the standout features of the RidgeMonkey Boilie Crusher is its efficiency. It can process up to 3kg of boilies in about five minutes. I used to break boilies manually with my fingers or with smaller crushers, and it would take ages. With this crusher, the results are quick, uniform, and hassle-free and create different sizes perfect for the lakebed.
The construction is rock-solid. RidgeMonkey is known for making durable fishing gear, and this crusher is no exception. The sturdy plastic casing feels robust, and the metal blades inside are sharp and well-designed to break down even the hardest boilies. I’ve put it through its paces with a variety of bait types, from soft boilies to really firm ones, and it handles them all without issue.
The design is also very user-friendly. The way it clips in ensures it stays put while you’re grinding, and the handle mechanism is smooth and easy to operate. It doesn’t require a huge amount of effort to use, which is a bonus when you’re prepping bait for a long session.
One of my favourite things about this crusher is how simple it is to use. Just load up the chamber, crank the handle a few times, and you’ve got an array of crushed boilies ready to go. It’s also surprisingly easy to clean—just a tap and turn of the handle to release any bits left in the blades.
At first glance, the RidgeMonkey Boilie Crusher might seem like a bit of an investment, but honestly, it’s worth every penny. The amount of time and effort it saves, plus the consistency it provides, makes it a must-have for any serious angler. I’ve used other smaller crushers in the past that were either flimsy or took forever to process large amounts of bait, and this one outshines them all.
