When you spend long sessions behind the rods, especially on busy day-ticket waters or during winter campaigns where you barely leave the bivvy, little bits of comfort suddenly become massive. It doesn’t feel cheap or like it’s going to flex under you, and it’s become one of those bits of gear that permanently lives in the bivvy now rather than being something I only pack “just in case”.

Practicality on the Bank

One of the best things about this setup is just how easy and discreet it is to use. During overnight sessions especially, it saves you having to get fully dressed and stomp across a muddy lake at 3am with a headtorch on.

It’s compact enough to take everywhere, yet big enough to actually be practical. I’ve used it on quick overnighters, week-long trips, and even kept it in the van for longer drives. Once you start bringing it along, you realise how useful it actually is.

The supplied bags have also been excellent. They fit properly, are easy to change, and most importantly they genuinely stop smells. That was one of my biggest concerns before buying it, especially keeping it inside the bivvy, but the odour control has been far better than expected. Even during warmer weather, everything stays contained and manageable.
